The Pro Loco Amo Stromboli is born out the courage of common people for the common good.
The Island of Stromboli has always welcomed tourists who are eager to discover its nooks and crannies, its culture and wilderness.
Recently, the island has been assailed by massive tourism, a challenge to the island’s natural balance. Stromboli, along with the Eolie Islands, is part of the UNESCO since 2000.
In order to restore an harmonious influx of both tourists and islanders, Amo Stromboli was born on August 20, 2020.
This initiative was created out of a desire for unity and respectbetween locals and vacationers. The very people who havealways loved Stromboli.
The logo of Amo Stromboli, two hands in the shape of a heartwith Stromboli in the middle, was created by Rosa Oliva, the President of Pro Loco.
Four days after Amo Stromboli was born, the organization wentright to work. A peaceful protest of 150 people wearing whitewhile social-distancing, arrived at the harbor to stop the large cruise ships full of “touch, litter and run” tourists.
Amo Stromboli’s objective is to promote sensible tourism by furnishing advice and solutions and by promoting the pure essence of our beloved island.
